چکیده

Ellagic acid is a healthy food and drug developed by foreign countries. It has been proven that it is not only anti-cancerous and anti-mutational, but also anti-microbial and antiviral. In this study, we examined the effect of ellagic acid alleviates inflammatory pain and paclitaxel-induced neuropathic pain in murine models. It was shown that the effect of ellagic acid could alleviate acetic acid-induced nociception, formalin-induced nociception and paclitaxel-induced neuropathy pain in mice. Meanwhile, we found that treatment with ellagic acid effectively suppressed the interleukin-6 (IL-6) and nuclear factor-kappa b (NF-κB) activities in acetic acid-induced inflammatory visceral nociception, formalin-induced nociception or paclitaxel-induced neuropathy pain of mice. Next, we researched the mechanism of ellagic acid down-regulated the P38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK) in acetic acid, formalin or paclitaxel-induced mice. These investigations suggested that ellagic acid alleviates inflammatory pain and paclitaxel-induced neuropathic pain in murine models through suppression of inflammatory and down-regulated the p38 MAPK signal path.

Quetiapine reverse paclitaxel-induced neuropathic pain in mice: Role of Alpha2- adrenergic receptors

Objective(s): Paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy is a common adverse effect of cancer chemo -therapy. This neuropathy has a profound impact on quality of life and patient’s survival. Preventing and treating paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy is a major concern. First- and second-generation antipsychotics have shown analgesic effects both in humans and animals. Quetiapine is a novel ...

Tempol Ameliorates and Prevents Mechanical Hyperalgesia in a Rat Model of Chemotherapy-Induced Neuropathic Pain

Chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain is difficult to treat and prevent. Tempol decreases cellular superoxide radical levels and oxidative stress. The aims of our study were to investigate the analgesic and preventive effects of tempol on paclitaxel-induced neuropathic pain in rats and to identify the associated mechanisms of action. Neuropathic pain was induced with intraperitoneally injected ...

Rolipram, a Selective Phosphodiesterase 4 Inhibitor, Ameliorates Mechanical Hyperalgesia in a Rat Model of Chemotherapy-Induced Neuropathic Pain through Inhibition of Inflammatory Cytokines in the Dorsal Root Ganglion

Chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain is a significant side effect of chemotherapeutic agents and is the most common reason for stopping chemotherapy. The aim of the present study was to find the major site and mechanisms of action by which rolipram, a selective phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitor, alleviates paclitaxel-induced neuropathic pain. Chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain was induced in ad...

Involvement of TRPM2 in a wide range of inflammatory and neuropathic pain mouse models.

Recent evidence suggests a role of transient receptor potential melastatin 2 (TRPM2) in immune and inflammatory responses. We previously reported that TRPM2 deficiency attenuated inflammatory and neuropathic pain in some pain mouse models, including formalin- or carrageenan-induced inflammatory pain, and peripheral nerve injury-induced neuropathic pain models, while it had no effect on the basa...

Analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of Chlorophytum alismifolium extract in murine models

Background & Aim:Medical conditions associated with pains and inflammation are prevalent in the global population. The tubers of Chlorophytum alismifolium are widely used traditionally in Nigeria for the management of pain and inflammation. This study aims to establish the chemical profile and evaluate the anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities of the hexane extract of C. a...
